Visit of Ms. Nunu Mitskevich to Sokhumi State University

On November 22, 2021, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Ms. Nunu Mitskevich, visited Sokhumi State University. The guest of honor met with the Rector, Professor Zurab Khonelidze and the Head of the International Relations and Intercultural Communications Service, Professor Indira Dzagania. The conversation focused on the Erasmus + CBHE project "Establishment of Psychological Counseling Centers for Students in Georgian Higher Education Institutions". This project is in line with the National Development Strategy of Georgia, as it directly responds to the strategic priorities and ways of their implementation, which are given in the "Strategic Document for Mental Health Development and Action Plan 2015-2020" approved by the Government of Georgia (https://matsne.gov.ge/ka/document/view/2667876?publication=0).

One of the five main goals of the project is to develop recommendations and legislative documentation for Georgian policy makers and government agencies. These issues were the focus of a meeting with Ms. Nunu Mitskevich. The Ministry of Education and Science is a project partner organization and it expresses its readiness to take an active part in the activities envisaged by the project and to support the implementation of the project results. The importance of the project was mentioned at the meeting, the circumstance was emphasized that SSU became the project coordinator for the first time, it was said that the project results will effectively contribute to the development and modernization of the university structure in the target higher education institutions of Georgia.

At the end, Rector, Professor Zurab Khonelidze and Project Coordinator, Professor Indira Dzagania thanked Ms. Nunu Mitskevich for her visit to Sokhumi State University and for supporting the project.
