Information virtual visit to the University of Transylvania in Brasov

On November 29-30 and December 1, 2021, as part of the E-PSY project, a virtual information visit was held to the University of Transylvania in Brasov (UNITBV). The consortium members from Georgia, Poland and Italy participated in the online meetings.
The November 29 meeting was chaired by Project Coordinator at the University of Brasov, Associate Professor Daniela Popa. She briefed participants on the university's infrastructure, faculties, student projects, research institute and research center projects, activities, and their importance. Louisa Messian, a professor at the Faculty of Sociology and Communication, spoke about the pilot project on students' emotional health and mental health during the pandemic, as well as the challenges of online learning and the quality of educational activities. Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences Mariela Pavalake focused on innovative projects, research and tools used for psychological and educational assessment.


On November 30, Oana Bota, a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, introduced the participants to the activities of the Counseling and Career Planning Center, talked about career, psychological and educational counseling, various services and activities. Associate Professor Michaela Voine shared with the participants experiences in various formal and informal activities aimed at raising the university's awareness in the community, collaborating with representatives of different levels of education, communicating between different generations of people and improving the social environment in general. At the end of the meeting, participants had the opportunity to get information about the university's teaching and research programs. Elena-Alexandrina Babi, a lecturer in the Master of Music Therapy program, spoke about the importance of the program and music therapy in general in improving person's physical and mental health and life as a whole. The meeting was in a question-and-answer mode. It was led by the project coordinator at the University of Brasov in Transylvania, Associate Professor Daniela Popa.


On December 1, Daciana Lupu, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, introduced the participants to the programs and activities designed for students of all levels, including students with special educational needs. She also spoke about the principles of psychodiagnostics, individual and group counseling, and challenges students face. Daniela Popa, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, focused on psychological and academic counseling services and programs for students with special needs, including counseling, selection of appropriate curriculum, employment assistance, provision of assistive devices, e-learning support, e-learning platform and involvement of volunteer students, ensuring an inclusive environment at the university, etc. Also, the participants shared information about the various psychological tools used by their center, introduced the center's strategy and future plans. The meeting was held in question-answer mode.
 At the end, a virtual tour of the University of Brasov and the city of Brasov in Transylvania was organized for the participants, led by Daniela Popa and Florin Nechita.
